The huge container ship that blocked the Suez Canal back in March has finally set sail after a settlement agreement has been reach between all parties.
The evergreen ship has been impounded for three months after it disrupted global trade by blocking the Suez Canal back in March.
The Evergreen ship became wedged across the canal during a sandstorm and blocked the canal for six days while tug boats and dredging vessels tried to free her. One person is reported to have died during the operation to free the container ship.
The vessel, crew and just over 18,000 containers have left Port Said after passing an inspection and is now on its way to Rotterdam in the Netherlands before heading to the UK port of Felixstowe where it will offload the remaining containers.
